“This is one of our favorite places while vacationing in the area. We ate here 2 nights. We had fried shrimp, flounder and scallops. All was excellent. We love their salad bar also! We did notice they reduced the salad plate size but who wants to fill up on salad when you have amazing food on it’s way!? Hushpuppies are the best – the sweet kind served with honey butter. We always arrive around 3:30 and enjoy a beverage at their outside bar area so we get a window seat when they open at 4. I would suggest arriving early or you’ll be waiting an hour or more if you come after 5. Wait staff has always been great. We love seeing the familiar face of the owner year after year. We almost feel like they should name a table after us!”

“This is my favorite place to eat in Murrells Inlet!!! We go here every summer! The salad bar is great and the hush puppies are yummy! I’ve never had a bad meal here. I recommend…..crab cakes, seafood chowder, surf n turf, broiled scallops. Prices are fair for fresh seafood and large salad bar. This place is VERY BUSY during vacation season so be prepared for a long wait. We always go at 4pm when they open….we are seated right away and never have a problem. By the time we pay our check and leave there is at least an hour wait. I highly recommend this restaurant. They have plenty of tables for large groups too. We travel with a group of 10 people.”

“After enjoying a walk around the Marsh Walk at Merrills Inlet, the meal at Druken Jacks was a perfect ending to a perfect day. Great seafood, at an ok price (lunch for two with drinks and one dessert was $40). Like other reviewers have said, get there EARLY for the best view of the marsh (when we called, we were told that they didn’t take reservations, but we found that the best seat disappeared quickly). We were lucky and grabbed one of the 20 or so seats overlooking the goats and pheasants on a small nearby island. It was such a peaceful experience that we didn’t want the day to end.”

“Went to dinner at Drunken Jacks on a recent trip to Murrells Inlet with wife and her father. We had eaten off the casual menu previously. This time we sat upstairs and had a wonderful view and meal overlooking the marsh. Salad bar was excellent as was the meal. The meal was perfect I had steak, father had prime rib and wife had fried shrimp. All were made to our liking. Highly recommend whether upstairs or down. Service was very good.”
